If your modem or router uses IP address 192.168.0.1 to identify itself on the network however you can’t administer it by navigating to http://192.168.0.1/ then you require finding out if any of the below is correct:



Verify if your router is actually detecting itself with IP 192.168.0.1. You can glance at the below steps for various operating systems.

Search the line that begins with “IP Default Gateway “. Verify if it has 192.168.0.1 in it. If it isn’t then your router uses a different IP address as seen in that line. To administer your router use this address.

Windows 7 & 10

Press on the ‘Start’ key & in search box write “cmd”.

MS DOS command window will open.

Write “ip config” there &click Enter.

Search the line that begins with “IP Default Gateway “. Verify if it has 192.168.0.1 in it. If it isn’t then your router uses a different IP address as seen in that line. To administer your router use this address.

Verify if router is allocated with IP 192.168.0.1 on Linux

Write any of the commands by opening a command window: “router”, “net stat -nr”, “ip route show”

In the output table find the Gateway column &in it search for the router IP.

In Gateway column if IP address matches 192.168.0.1 it shows that your router uses it. Else to administer your router use IP that is shown in Gateway column.

Verify if router is allotted with IP address 192.168.0.1 on iOS

Press home key or from the bottom of the screen swipe up on latest devices to go to a home screen.

Choose Settings

Choose Wi-Fi

Select Wi-Fi network that is run by your router.

In the Router row you will observe your router IP. If it matches 192.168.0.1 then it indicates that your router uses it. Else to administer your router use IP that is seen in Gateway column.
